Guilden Morden Away

Strollers won the toss and put Guilden in to bat – big mistake! Their openers put on 130 for the first wicket before Henry Hughs got the break through. Mark King bowled well and picked up his first wicket for the club along with Joe Cooker who also got a couple. Hugo Fray – making his Strollers debut at 12 years and a few days,  bowled extremely well considering the standard of batsman he was up against. Hugo picked up his first wicket for the club against a dominant batting side. Guilden posted 250 odd from 36 Overs.

Batting, we started brightly and Simeon Green (Captain) managed to blaze a quick 44 giving Guildens opener a bit of his own medicine. However wickets fell regularly and Strollers managed to limp to 100 and something all out after about 30 overs. High light of the innings for me was Hugo who managed to finish not out in double figures. Combined with his robust bowling performance and controlled batting, Hugo was awarded Man Of the Match and 10 Stroller points.
